The Seed Vault - pre-order campaign

I owe an explanation to those who have been asking about the book.

I was planning to launch the pre-order campaign for The Seed Vault two months ago. I got delayed.

Two main reasons:

1. I started a new job. The hyperfocus mode kicked in, and dopamine adjustments ensued before regaining the mental space for hobbies.

2. I’ve failed to create a promotional video. Over the summer, I spent hours on Midjourney generating AI images, selecting excerpts from the story, and editing boring fade-ins and fade-outs, all to avoid something simpler yet far more exposing such as a video of myself talking about the book. Some AI results were so cringe that I had to come up with ridiculous voiceover scripts to match (see below). Then I started stressing with the sheer impact of the acknowledgement … How am I supposed to promote books in this day and age if I can’t create video content? I’m doomed.

I haven’t solved the problem yet, but I’ve made a decision.

With or without a promo video, the pre-order campaign will go ahead in November.

I’m on track to publish in early 2026, and those who pre-order via Kickstarter will get early access to the book, signed copies, and exclusive items.

Watch this space.
